I'm looking forward to uploading some shows as soon as it becomes official.

The reason I asked the question originally was because I seem to remember someone posting that they had received another email from the group and that they were to be added to the list relatively soon--but that was awhile ago.

Just got back from Red Rocks and I talked to someone who speculated that the lack of OK is due to the fact that they technically don't "own" copyrights to the songs because of their recording contract - they own publishing rights but that's about it. Part of this reluctance likely comes from some hassle they got about their last live album, which was released on a label other than the one they'd released their first seven albums on (A&M). I don't know what the outcome was, but I somehow doubt A&M just said "sure, go ahead, use them, we don't care about money".

I'd actually like to get more input on this...it seems that for the most part, any band that signs with a major label signs away the rights to their songs - am I right? I would also imagine that allowing stuff on archive.org is a different animal than releasing an album for sale.

What I'll likely do in the meantime is find some bands on here that are likely to have similar situations - bands signed to a major-ish label that likely don't "own" their songs - and forward the info along to BT management, who I'm pretty friendly with. I've got hundreds of shows sitting here that would start streaming onto the server as soon as we get the OK... :)
